Genetically Engineering GMO's

A VICTORY FOR VERMONT AGRICULTURE: Governor to sign

Governor Douglas has announced he will sign the ‘Farmer Right to Know’
bill to regulate genetically modified organisms (GMOs). After years of
work, Vermont is poised to take an important first step towards
regulating GMOs in our state THANKS TO YOU. It was your calls, emails
and membership support that made this victory possible.

A NEXT STEP TO PROTECT VERMONT FARMERS :
SAY NO TO FACTORY FARMS!!!!
Vermont’s present Right to Farm law has worked well to protect Vermont
farmers from unreasonable nuisance suits. A proposal now before the
Senate will weaken the law and may result in fewer protections for
farmers.

The Senate is right now debating the Miscellaneous Agriculture Bill,
which has two parts: 1) Right to Farm law amendments and 2) permitting
for medium and large farming operations. Now is the time to call your
Senator and urge a NO vote on the Right to Farm section of the bill.

The message is: Vermont’s present Right to Farm law works. It is not
broken. Please don’t try to fix it.

You can find your senator from the list below based on what county you
